the choice of suicide or euthanasia

Because everyone’s life is deemed valuable to God, the choice of suicide or euthanasia contradicts this and is therefore considered sin. Do you agree? Why or why not?

Initial discussion question posts should be a minimum of 200 words and include at least two references cited using APA format. Responses to peers or faculty should be 100-150 words and include one reference. Parenting scenarios | Nursing homework help

Deliverables
A Word document in 12-point font, double spacing, APA citations (including a title and reference page), and utilizes paragraph format with complete sentences.  This assignment should also respond to the following questions thoroughly and thoughtfully.

Activity Details
Perform the following tasks:

Step 1: Read the following scenarios, and try to come up with a plausible explanation about why the child would behave in the way that s/he did in the scenario.

1. You are walking through a local grocery store and see the following interaction between a parent and child:  The parent and child are in the checkout line.  The child requests a candy bar and the parent says “I’m sorry, but I don’t think it’s a good idea—we’re meeting Gramma and Pop for dinner tonight at a restaurant, and I don’t want to ruin your appetite.”  The child begins to whine and scream that s/he wants the candy bar “now!”

2. A parent and child are in a craft store.  The child has a packet of stickers in his hand.  In one of the aisles of the store, the child removes a glass vase from a shelf, and the mother politely asks the child to put it back.  The child fails to comply so the mother says: “I’m going to count to five, and if you don’t put the vase back, then you’re going to lose the stickers.”  The child again fails to comply, so the mother requests that the child give the stickers back.  The child refuses and ultimately the mother removes the stickers from the child’s hand.  The child begins to scream and call his mother names, and when the mother lifts the child to remove him from the store, he begins to hit and bite her.

3. Two children are playing at recess on a playground.  One child is bouncing a ball.  The other child goes up to the first child, pushes him down, and takes the ball away.

4. You work in a department store.  One day you see a mother and her young daughter in the toy section.  The child is whining about how she wants a book because she is so “bored” with all the books that she has at home.  The mother ignores the child’s request.  The child whines about the book from the “book aisle” into the next aisle.  In the next aisle, the child begins to whine about needing some new clothes for her doll baby because her old clothes are “boring.”  The mother responds with “you have a lot of clothes for your baby, perhaps on another day.”  The child escalates her whining and continues to whine into the next aisle.  In the next aisle, the child begins to whine that she needs some new games because her games are all “boring.”  The mother quickly grabs a pack of “go fish” cards and hands them to the child.  The child smiles brightly.

Step 2: Read through your Textbook, Web Resources, and Other Supplemental Resources to Answer the Scenarios.
As you answer the scenarios, make sure you utilize paragraph format as well as APA guidelines. If you use references, make sure to cite those as well.

Step 3: Look over your Assignment for Spelling or Grammar Errors.
It is always a good idea to proofread your work prior to submission.  Take this time to read over your assignment and make sure you have thoroughly and thoughtfully explained your answers to the questions listed above.

Nursing care consumes about 1/3 of a hospitals budget and nurse leaders are tasked with controlling labor costs to aid in cost saving for example, cutting hours, flexing nurses, or increasing patient to nurse ratio where appropriate (Bayram et al., 2022). Another way nurse leaders can impact cost of care is improving work environments and staff satisfaction, leading to reduced nurse turnover and subsequently a decrease in recruiting, hiring, and training new staff which significantly reduces hospital spending. In addition, reducing nurse turnover and increasing nursing staff is associated with fewer infections, fewer adverse reactions, fewer deaths, and increased length of stay which are all associated with cost savings (Lasater et al., 2021)

Implementing evidence-based practice can contribute to cost-containment efforts within healthcare organizations as evidence based practice guides nurses and providers to choose appropriate diagnostic tests which reduces finances associated with over-testing. In addition, evidence based practice is associated with improved outcomes whether that be clinical, organizational, or fiscal. Examples can include reduced patient infections, shorter length of stay for patients, or reduction in unplanned readmissions. All of these are associated with not only better patient outcomes, but also reduced cost to the facility (Cullen et al., 2018).

A simple example of how evidence-based practice can impact healthcare costs is the implementation of evidence-based methods of administering medications. Evidence supports multiple patient identifiers and use of electronic medication administration record have proven to be effective in reducing patient medication errors. This evidence-based practice leads to decrease in medication error associated costs, and more efficient medication administration ultimately leading to a decrease in hospital spending.

I will admit that in my role as a bedside nurse I rarely consider fiscal and resource management. Healthcare costs and their affects on my patient are not usually at the forefront of my mind however this discussion post has made me reflect on my own experience and how my practice could change to aid the efforts of nurse leaders in reducing these costs which can ultimately help to reduce patient costs and improve patient experience and satisfaction.

NSG 4320 Week 3 Discussion Post

Provide two different examples that demonstrate how nurse leaders can impact cost of care through cost-containment efforts surrounding budgeting, expense reporting, personnel/staffing decisions, or reimbursement.

1. Nurse leaders can impact the cost of care through strategic personnel and staffing decisions that optimize staffing levels and scheduling practices to match patient acuity per unit. “Nursing care has been reported as consuming approximately one third of the hospital budget, and head nurses in charge of the units are expected to control labor costs, to contribute to cost saving and ultimately, to the financial stability of the system” (Bayram et al., 2022). Nurse leaders can minimize labor costs by implementing a flexible staffing arrangement while maintaining safe staffing ratios and preserving job satisfaction.

2. Nurse leaders can also impact the cost of care by participating in budgeting processes and advocating for appropriate resource allocation to support patient care delivery. Leaders may collaborate with other departmental leaders to prioritize funding for essential equipment, supplies, and clinical priorities. Nurse leaders may explore resource-sharing opportunities or consolidation to maximize efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Discuss how implementing evidence-based practice can contribute to cost-containment efforts within healthcare organizations.

Implementing evidence-based practice (EBP) within healthcare organizations can significantly contribute to cost-containment efforts by ensuring that clinical interventions and care processes are grounded in the best available evidence of effectiveness. By utilizing evidence-based guidelines and protocols, healthcare providers can avoid unnecessary interventions, reduce variations in care, and minimize the risks of medical errors and adverse outcomes. By adopting evidence-based protocols, healthcare organizations can standardize care practices, streamline workflows, and reduce unnecessary tests, procedures, and hospitalizations, lowering healthcare costs.

Provide one example of an evidence-based change that can impact healthcare costs.

One example of an evidence-based change that can impact healthcare costs is implementing telehealth services for certain types of appointments and consultations. Telehealth can provide effective and efficient care delivery while reducing healthcare costs associated with traditional in-person visits. By using this technology to conduct remote consultations, follow-up appointments, and monitoring sessions, healthcare providers can minimize the need for costly office visits, travel expenses, and facility overhead. Telehealth also improves access to care for patients in remote or underserved areas, reducing the burden on emergency departments and urgent care centers for non-emergent issues.

Reflect on your work as a nurse. After reviewing the content in this module, how will your practice change in the future concerning fiscal and resource management? What specific changes will you make in your practice?

After reviewing these modules, I plan to pay more attention to the supplies I use for patients. With an increased emphasis on cost-conscious care delivery, I will be more mindful of resource utilization and waste reduction in my clinical practice. I help decide which intravenous device is placed for patients needing vascular access. I know there are cost differences in the various products, and I oversee which device is placed based on the patient’s clinical picture. When reflecting on cost, it is also necessary to think of the charge to the patient and if the device is essential.

Response to disc 2 | Nursing homework help

PLEASE RESPOND TO THE FOLLOWING POST OF A CLASSMATE IN 100 WORDS:

We live in a busy environment and have a lot of stress but not everyone pays attention to how to deal with it. I know for a long time I had no idea what my feelings were and how to deal with high stress. I had so much anxiety and had no way out. I was stuck in a place where I did not think that someone would be able to help me. That was the time of 90ies in the former USSR where no one even heard about meditation, relaxation techniques, biofeedback, or hypnotic therapy. Years later one of my mom’s friends suggested that I try relaxation techniques and meditation. I honestly did not think any of it would help but I was willing to try. I felt that there is a connection between myself with my body and I was feeling good about myself. As I am reading from our textbook Micozzi describes meditation very well that it alleviates anxiety, fosters positive attitude, and improves immune response (Micozzi et al., 2019 p.92). I also read that HIV, cancer and other immunocompromise patients would have beneficial effects toward recovery with meditation. Since stress elimination would ease in recovery. As I was listening to the meditative relaxation video, I was also doing breathing exercises, my body was connected to me and the universe. I felt asleep and had a great night rest after not properly sleeping for 4 nights since the time change affects me in a negative way.

I like what Micozzi said about biofeedback that it uses special instruments and methods to expand the body natural internal feedback system with adjust thinking the body will be able to control bodily processes such as blood pressure, temperature and GI function and brain wave activity (Micozzi et al., 2019 p.143). Also, hypnosis resembles other forms of relaxation. When hypnotherapist leads patients through relaxation, mental imagery, and suggestions. Patients can perform techniques on themselves in their home settings. It works by decreasing sympathetic nervous system activity, decreasing oxygen consumption and carbon dioxide elimination, lowering blood pressure and heart rate. It increases or decreases certain brain activity (Micozzi et al., 2019 p.142).

Health, Healing, and the Nursing Process 2

Part A: Revised Case Scenario

Group members: Kelly Savage, Rosemary Orumwense, Twinkle Twinkle, Jasmeen Jasmeen, Bhumika Katuwal

Assigned chronic health condition:

Grave’s Disease

Client Narrative/Story:

Helen Hill, a 35-year-old graphic designer of Irish Canadian heritage, has navigated the challenges of Graves’

Disease for one year. During her last visit, which was 6 weeks ago, Helen weighed approximately 58 kg. Despite

maintaining a stable diet, she has experienced unintentional weight loss, a common symptom of her condition,

bringing her current weight down to 48 kg. Standing at 1.68 meters tall, her Body Mass Index (BMI) has shifted

from a healthier range to a lower one, indicating this significant weight loss.

Helen is a graphic designer and her career as a graphic designer demands precision and creativity. Yet her hand

tremors and fluctuating vision have introduced barriers she continuously strives to overcome.

Recently, high blood pressure has emerged as another significant concern, further complicating her condition.

This addition underscores the necessity of a comprehensive approach to her healthcare, integrating cardiovascular

management with her ongoing thyroid disorder treatment. Socially, Helen has felt isolated due to her condition.

The physical changes, particularly the noticeable swelling in her neck and the protrusion of her eyes have led to

self-consciousness and withdrawal from social gatherings. Additionally, the unpredictable nature of her

symptoms, including severe fatigue and night sweats, has strained her relationships and ability to engage in

activities she once loved. Helen has a history of smoking, and does not drink or use recreational drugs, Helen has

also recently taken pregnancy tests due to irregular menstrual cycle, which were negative.

Despite these challenges, Helen is determined to remain independent and continue her career. She has sought

support through online communities, finding solace and understanding among others with similar experiences.

She also plays a significant role in her community, volunteering her graphic design skills to local non-profit

organizations, which not only allows her to give back but also provides a sense of purpose and belonging. Her

interest in alternative medicine has led her to explore various supplements and dietary changes to complement

her conventional treatment, seeking a more holistic approach to manage her symptoms. Helen’s resilience is

evident in her commitment to managing her condition, from adhering to a strict medication regimen to

experimenting with dietary changes and stress reduction techniques.

Issues client is experiencing related to their chronic health condition:

·Significant Weight Loss and Altered BMI: Helen’s unintentional weight/muscle loss from 58 kg to 48 kg,
