The three elements form the primary nursing professional activities. First, theory guides scientists during research to avoid gathering discreet data or information which does not give the expected knowledge of the field (Fook, 2001. Besides, theory directs the research process through providing the basis for developing the research questions, research design, data analysis as well as interpretation (Polit & Beck, 2017). The practitioners then practice research findings in the nursing profession for better patient outcome.
Importance of the Integration of Theory, Research and Practice to Advanced Practice Nursing
The integration of the three professional activities benefits practitioners in their duties. First, theory guides the practitioners while researching a particular issue in their career. Approach guides the researcher on the method to use, design, data analysis as well as interpretation of the gathered information (Nilsen, 2015). Second, the collected research findings are practiced by the practitioners in their healthcare service delivery.
Impact of the Integration of Patient-Centered Care and Improvement of Patient Outcomes
The integration of the three professional activities affects patient-centered care and improvement of patient outcome. The three concepts are combined to enable the caregivers provide the clients with patient-centered care. The nurses use existing theory to research matters affecting the patients and put the research results into practice. Therefore, the three activities enable the nurses to provide patient-centered care thus improving the patient outcomes.
Impact of Nursing Theory on Practice
Nursing theory guides the practitioners in their practice in the profession (Smith & Parker, 2015). Consequently, the nurses can perform their duties as expected thus providing quality services which result in a perfect patient outcome.
